Data Migration Engineer

Overview

Data Migration Engineer responsible for planning and executing end-to-end transformation and migration of large, complex datasets across differing source and target platforms in high-scrutiny, government-linked environments.

What you'll do

• Strategize and govern the end-to-end data transformation and migration approach for large, complex datasets.
• Establish and enforce data migration standards, governance, and documentation.
• Lead data extraction, validation, and reconciliation of production data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data discrepancies during migration and validation.
• Coordinate mock runs, trial loads, and final cutover execution while maintaining data integrity.
• Ensure traceability and compliance with audit requirements throughout the migration lifecycle.

What you'll need

• Proven track record of delivering data migration projects in public sector or other high-scrutiny, government-linked contexts.
• Hands-on proficiency with Python and ETL tooling.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and Azure Migration Services.
• Ability to lead mock runs, trial loads, and cutover execution while maintaining strict data integrity.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex data discrepancies during migration and validation.
• Must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident with direct access to sensitive production data.

Nice to have

• Experience with database performance tuning and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with data governance, audit, and compliance frameworks in regulated or public sector environments.
• Relevant cloud or data certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate).
• Experience engaging directly with stakeholders and application teams on technical data model decisions.
