Overview
Data Migration Engineer responsible for planning and executing end-to-end transformation and migration of large, complex datasets across differing source and target platforms in high-scrutiny, government-linked environments.
What you'll do
- Strategize and govern the end-to-end data transformation and migration approach for large, complex datasets.
- Establish and enforce data migration standards, governance, and documentation.
- Lead data extraction, validation, and reconciliation of production data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data discrepancies during migration and validation.
- Coordinate mock runs, trial loads, and final cutover execution while maintaining data integrity.
- Ensure traceability and compliance with audit requirements throughout the migration lifecycle.
What you'll need
- Proven track record of delivering data migration projects in public sector or other high-scrutiny, government-linked contexts.
- Hands-on proficiency with Python and ETL tooling.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and Azure Migration Services.
- Ability to lead mock runs, trial loads, and cutover execution while maintaining strict data integrity.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex data discrepancies during migration and validation.
- Must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident with direct access to sensitive production data.
Nice to have
- Experience with database performance tuning and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with data governance, audit, and compliance frameworks in regulated or public sector environments.
- Relevant cloud or data certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate).
- Experience engaging directly with stakeholders and application teams on technical data model decisions.
