Data Services Delivery AI Engineer - Assistant Vice President

Overview

Lead the strategy, design, implementation and delivery of enterprise data engineering, data integration, reporting and analytics solutions across on-premises and cloud platforms, including AI-enabled engineering practices.

What you'll do

• Manage data analysis and data integration of disparate systems.
• Create a semantic layer for data virtualization that connects to heterogeneous data repositories.
• Develop reports and dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools as assigned.
• Assist the Data Management Engineering Team (Data Pipelines Engineering or Data Service & Data Access Engineering) with ETL or BI design and other framework items.
• Work with business users to translate functional specifications into technical designs for implementation and deployment.
• Extract, transform and load large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources into AWS data lakes or modern data platforms such as Snowflake.
• Leverage GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, documentation and testing efficiency.
• Design and implement AI-enabled automation solutions, including Agentic AI frameworks, to enhance data engineering, reporting and operational processes.
• Assist with Data Quality Controls as assigned.
• Work with cross-functional team members to develop prototypes, produce design artifacts, develop components, and perform and support SIT and UAT testing, triaging and bug fixing.
• Resolve issues and defects in a timely manner and ensure quality deliverables.
• Optimize the data integration platform to provide optimal performance under increasing data volumes.
• Develop data integration standards according to the organization's information services policies and best practices.
• Review other integration developers' work to ensure consistent methodologies are followed and make recommendations where necessary.
• Work with Agile teams and JIRA.
• Ensure high quality and optimum performance of data integration systems to meet business solutions.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience leading design, development and optimization of dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau and other reporting platforms.
• 5+ years of experience integrating BI tools with data warehouses/lakes (e.g. Snowflake), with strong knowledge of Data Modelling and UX/UI for dashboards.
• 3+ years of experience migrating reports from legacy platforms.
• 5+ years of strong proficiency in AWS services, including Glue, Redshift, EMR, RDS, Kinesis, S3, Athena, DynamoDB, Step Functions and Lambda.
• 2+ years of expertise dealing with data pipelines associated with modern data platforms such as Snowflake.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar platforms, with practical understanding of how they improve development, documentation, testing and automation workflows.
• 2+ years of working experience with Agentic AI concepts, Prompt Engineering, Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI governance and responsible AI adoption in enterprise technology environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in the financial services industry.
• Exposure to data virtualization tools such as Starburst, Dremio or Denodo.
• Familiarity with data mesh and data fabric (highly desirable).
• Familiarity with data governance, data security and compliance practices in cloud environments.
• AWS, Snowflake, Power BI or Tableau certifications.
• Knowledge of Banking & Financial Services products (such as Loans, Deposits, Forex).
• Knowledge of operational/MIS reports, risk and regulatory reporting for a US bank.
• DAX (advanced).
