Overview
The Database Developer designs, develops, maintains, and supports SQL Server databases for data integrity, performance, security, and availability across application development and production environments.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server database objects, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and indexes.
- Create and manage database scripts for releases, schema changes, test data creation, database backups, and deployments.
- Perform SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Support application teams with database-related requirements and web service database integrations.
- Grant, review, and maintain user privileges and access controls.
- Assist with the installation, upgrade, patching, and maintenance of database software.
- Participate in physical database design, capacity planning, and database sizing activities.
- Perform database backup, recovery, replication, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Support the implementation of DDL changes with proper version control and documentation.
- Conduct monthly database audits and address compliance, security, and performance-related findings.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to support application releases and stable production environments.
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure adherence to database development and operational standards.
What you'll need
- 4–5 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server database development and support.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server database programming and administration.
- Proven experience in performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
- Good understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data integrity.
- Familiarity with database deployment, version control, and release management practices.
- Positive attitude with strong self-motivation and a sense of ownership.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
