Overview
Take stakeholder requests from the Global Risk organization, understand the business context, and deliver a recommendation that drives a better business outcome as an individual contributor with no direct reports.
What you'll do
- Take requests directly from key stakeholders, clarify the real business question behind the ask, and determine the fastest credible approach to answer it.
- Own each request end to end, from the first stakeholder conversation through the final recommendation, without handing pieces off to a team.
- Use the best available tool for each question, such as SQL, Tableau/Power BI, AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, or a combination, rather than defaulting to a standard dashboard or report.
- Build analyses that benchmark performance against peers or history, such as comparing an issuer's or acquirer's fraud and approval performance, to give stakeholders a credible frame of reference.
- Leverage data and analytics on fraud and dispute patterns to inform ecosystem security and integrity decisions, translating findings into a specific recommendation.
- Know when a question is bigger than it looks, and escalate or reframe it before investing time answering the wrong thing.
- Serve as the subject matter expert stakeholders come to with a business problem, not just a request for data.
- Contribute to a high performing culture by sharing your approach and judgment with other analysts in the function.
- Craft the recommendations and presentations that carry them, ensuring senior stakeholders get a clear answer and a clear "so what."
- Champion the responsible use of AI tools in your own work, validating their output before it informs a decision.
- Cultivate stakeholder relationships so they bring you the real question early.
What you'll need
- Genuine curiosity about the business behind the data, asking why before how and not building until the decision the answer supports is understood.
- 5 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree, or 3 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD).
- Demonstrated ability to take an ambiguous business question from a stakeholder, scope it, and determine the right approach to answer it.
- Comfort owning a stakeholder relationship and a request end to end without a team to delegate to.
- Genuine, hands-on skill with AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude Code, Microsoft Copilot, or similar), SQL, and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI), paired with business judgment on when and how to apply them.
