Design Engineer - Chassis/Structures

Overview

Design Engineer supporting engineering design and development activities for large-scale product development programs in chassis and structures.

What you'll do

• Lead and support engineering activities for large-scale product development programs, including investigating feasibility.
• Perform design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and create 2D drawings.
• Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
• Create part specification requirements and BOM.
• Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
• Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection.
• Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.
• Search for new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs.

What you'll need

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5+ years of Chassis design experience.
• 5+ years of experience using 3-D modeling software tools CATIA V5/V6.
• Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Nice to have

• Education in Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, or Manufacturing.
• 3+ years of experience designing suspension components and systems.

Details

• Location: Pune, Maharashtra.
• Travel to client sites required.
