Overview

CAD Designer – Bridges role supporting transportation infrastructure engineering by producing and managing CAD drawings in AutoCAD and assisting with drawing sets and revisions.

What you'll do

• Produce and modify 2D/3D technical drawings (plans, sections, elevations, details) in AutoCAD from sketches or design briefs.
• Develop drawing sets from rough sketches, markups, or field measurements and support senior CAD staff/engineers.
• Maintain drawing standards including layers, blocks, x-refs, viewports, and layout/printer settings.
• Prepare/manage CAD files with naming, filing, version control, and archiving.
• Convert drawings between formats (DWG, DXF, PDF) and ensure compatibility.
• Incorporate reviewer feedback, revisions, and redlines into drawings.
• Assist preparing drawings for tender/construction/fabrication/shop drawings as applicable and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve inconsistencies.

What you'll need

• 0-3 years of working experience in CAD drafting using AutoCAD.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, including layers/blocks/x-refs, model space/paper space, dimensioning, annotation, and plotting.
• Basic understanding of technical/engineering drawings, including reading blueprints and interpreting sketches.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in drawing output.
• Basic familiarity with file management and version control.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office etc.) and good communication skills to follow instructions and collaborate.
• Ability to meet deadlines and reliably handle assigned tasks.
