Development and Operations Engineer

Overview

Development and Operations engineer role within Trimble E-Tools, focused on building and operating cloud-native developer experience and productivity tooling.

What you'll do

• Partner with software engineering teams to design, automate, and deploy SDLC productivity tools.
• Maintain and optimize cloud-native toolchains to transition operations toward an AI-PDLC framework.
• Instrument and report engineering performance metrics using DORA and SPACE frameworks.
• Build automated dashboards and visualization workflows using Domo for adoption and production metrics.
• Automate infrastructure administration and create AI-influenced self-service workflows in Jira Service Management and FreshService.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to embed shift-left security controls using tools like Trufflehog, Mend, and Wiz.

What you'll need

• 1 to 3 years of experience in cloud environments and scalable SaaS architectures.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technology discipline.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, TypeScript, or Go.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation and containerization tools.
• Operational knowledge of AWS, with secondary exposure to Microsoft Azure or GCP.
• Hands-on experience configuring or working with enterprise AI assistants like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or Atlassian Rovo.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) to securely connect AI models to engineering frameworks and repositories.
