Dir Security Operations & Engineering

Overview

Lead security operations and engineering teams responsible for protecting information systems and technology environments. Oversee monitoring, incident response, security engineering, controls, risk remediation, projects, resources, and staff.

What you'll do

• Lead multiple security operations and engineering teams, including subordinate managers.
• Oversee cybersecurity monitoring, event analysis, investigation, escalation, reporting, and incident response.
• Direct analysis of logs and security data to identify unauthorized access, intrusions, compromises, and threats.
• Oversee SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, web application firewalls, and related security platforms.
• Develop operational metrics and report security events, risks, vulnerabilities, and service performance.
• Direct security risk remediation, mitigating controls, and security reviews of application and system changes.
• Hire, coach, mentor, and evaluate managers and professional security staff.

What you'll need

• 6–8 years of related management experience.
• Significant experience in security operations, engineering, architecture, or related information security disciplines.
• Experience leading multiple security teams or subordinate managers.
• Experience managing or leading a Security Operations Center or security engineering function.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, web application firewalls, and security event correlation.
• Knowledge of access controls, system hardening, log monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident handling.
• Ability to manage staff, vendors, projects, resources, and complex security problems.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GCIA, CEH, or GIAC.
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry.

• Work mode: Remote.
• Base salary: $138,000–$200,100 per year.
