Overview
Director of Engineering focused on mixed-signal IC development for power ICs, defining system architecture and leading cross-functional execution for India-focused product needs.
What you'll do
- Define optimum system architecture for application-specific ICs across analog signal-chain, high-power delivery, mixed-signal integration, and digital-controller-based architectures.
- Map product needs to existing Renesas IP across business units and identify where new development is required.
- Collaborate with teams across system engineering, analog packaging, back-end, design, test, and operations to execute IC development.
- Lead development programs from concept definition through production handoff, including verification, validation, and qualification activities.
- Drive architecture trade-offs across performance, integration level, BOM cost, manufacturability, qualification effort, and technology reuse.
- Plan automotive quality needs in the design phase, including DFT structures, test coverage, reliability flows, and production test implications.
- Build and mentor the technical development team from scratch and represent the program in senior leadership reviews.
What you'll need
- 15+ years of experience in mixed-signal IC, analog IC, power IC, or related semiconductor product development.
- Bachelor or Masters in Electronics Engineering (related discipline) from a reputed institution.
- Experience leading IC development with multiple functional teams is required.
- Understanding of automotive qualification requirements for integrated circuits and planning execution with required DFT circuits.
- Good understanding of advanced semiconductor packaging technologies and their impact on cost, thermal performance, integration, and manufacturability.
- Experience building a team from scratch.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, including concise issue communication to a range of audiences.
