Overview
Define and govern the architectural framework for the HR Digital & Tech Domain, ensuring technology decisions support business goals and the successful delivery of domain products such as Workday and Payroll & Time.
What you'll do
- Define and maintain the architectural framework, standards, and schematics for the HR Digital & Tech Domain, including domain-specific principles, patterns, data flows, and interface models.
- Introduce and govern a Domain Standards Catalogue (e.g., principles, reference patterns, SLAs, reusable assets), ensuring lifecycle ownership, version control, and adoption across delivery teams.
- Partner with senior Business and IT stakeholders to guide domain technology decisions, ensuring alignment to business goals, risk appetite, and product delivery priorities.
- Partner with VP Global HR D&T, Data and Digital Enablement Director and HR Tech Tower Leads to define long term architecture simplification and consolidation strategy.
- Partner with HR Tech Delivery Director on key architecture decisions and delivery of top priority projects.
- Lead business case development for new technology investments, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders and funding submission.
- Provide architectural guidance to Solution Architects and delivery teams, enabling consistent design approaches; define reusable domain contracts and interface specifications with versioning, observability, and interoperability requirements.
- Produce and maintain architecture artefacts for the domain (e.g., reference architectures, models, integration schematics, contract definitions, security patterns) required to support delivery and operational readiness.
- Support compliance and governance processes (e.g. Architecture Review Board, Change Advisory Board), including architecture review checkpoints, exemption criteria, design sign-off, and updates to the domain technical debt register.
- Assess architectural compliance and technical debt trends within the domain, contributing actionable recommendations to improve scalability, reliability, maintainability, and product lifecycle sustainability.
- Maintain a regular cadence with Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise AI, Cyber Security, and Product Teams to align on standards, resolve cross-domain design challenges, and support enterprise-level use cases and digital ecosystem interoperability.
- Track and report key architecture KPIs for the domain (e.g., pattern adoption, application rationalisation, exemptions closed, technical debt reduction, readiness score, contract/interface reuse index).
- Lead your team in using approved AI tools to improve productivity and ways of working, role-modelling responsible use and following GSK's Responsible AI, privacy and security requirements.
