Director Participant Engagement

Overview

Lead a regional field team of retirement advisers and/or counselors who help employees of Empower's clients prepare for a successful retirement by replacing the income they earned while working. The role drives plan participation, assets and use of Empower Advisory Services and products in an assigned geographic area, and involves extensive relationship building with prospective accounts.

What you'll do

• Lead and manage a regional team to execute a regional growth strategy and business plan that identifies new business opportunities for maximizing defined contribution plan (457(b), 403(b), 401(k)) participation, assets and savings rates
• Improve the participant's overall diversification and wealth accumulation and distribution strategy
• Maximize the adoption and use of Empower products and services, including Managed Accounts through Empower Advisory Services
• Create an environment of safety, autonomy, high-accountability, support, coaching and feedback that fosters high performance, engagement, learning and career development
• Ensure the team adheres to a consistent service model using Empower technological resources and counseling processes, and to corporate policies and procedures
• As the Supervising Principal, ensure all regulatory and fiduciary rules and standards are adhered to by tracking and monitoring the associated records
• Facilitate training sessions to enhance service activities, compliance requirements and corporate/industry policies and procedures
• Build strong partnerships with key regional personnel, plan sponsor representatives and internal and external stakeholders to maximize distribution and use of Empower products and services and carry out strategic initiatives
• Analyze and control all expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements
• Participate in the delivery of sales presentations along with Regional Sales Directors and key members of senior management
• Perform duties inherent in a supervisory position

What you'll need

• 7 - 10 years experience in the Financial Services industry
• Understanding of management, training, coaching and leadership principles
• General understanding of technology software with the ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and learn new systems
• Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade others, driving behavioral change and personal development while identifying and executing strategies that support organizational initiatives and exceed corporate goals
• FINRA 6, 63, 26 and 65 registrations required within established timelines; at least two registrations required for consideration
• FINRA fingerprinting required
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; Empower is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time, including CPT/OPT

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
• Previous management experience
• Knowledge of the financial services and defined contribution industries and the associated products and services
• Financial services designations (e.g. CFP, ChFC, CRC, CRPC) or the ability to obtain one within the first year of employment
• Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding performance goals in prior roles

Details

• Location: Nashville, Tennessee; remote position
• Remote and hybrid positions require reliable high-speed wired internet from a fiber, cable or DSL provider and a dedicated place to work at home with limited disruption; you may be required to work in the office if these conditions are not met
• Base salary range $105,700.00 - $149,275.00; actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience, education, licensure and skill level
• Non-sales positions may participate in a bonus program
