Director, Portfolio Solution Engineering

Overview

Lead portfolio solution engineering for complex enterprise AI presales opportunities, from discovery and solution strategy through proof-of-concept governance and technical sign-off. The role combines hands-on architecture, customer presentation, team coaching, and AI product positioning.

What you'll do

• Own presales pipeline, solution strategy, POC governance, and win/loss reviews.
• Lead complex enterprise AI deals from discovery through technical sign-off.
• Design and oversee POCs covering data requirements, model evaluation, integration architecture, and results framing.
• Coach Solutions Consultants on AI solutioning, technical storytelling, and commercial positioning.
• Build AI/ML playbooks, demo frameworks, and discovery guides.
• Provide field intelligence to Product and go-to-market strategy teams.
• Represent the company at industry events and customer advisory conversations.

What you'll need

• 12–16 years in presales, solution consulting, or sales engineering.
• At least 3 years leading a team.
• At least 2 years of hands-on AI product presales experience.
• Working knowledge of LLMs, embedding models, vector databases, inference costs, token economics, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and API-based AI services.
• Ability to scope and run technically rigorous POCs independently.
• Experience with AI pricing, complex enterprise sales cycles, and procurement or finance discussions.
• Recent architect or generative AI-facing technology experience and exposure to banking, insurance, or retail profiles.
