Director – Risk ,Control & Compliance

Overview

Lead the Risk & Compliance team supporting Financial Accounting Services, Procure-to-Pay, Employee Services and Payroll Solutions, and Commercial Services as part of the Second Line of Defence, providing independent challenge, assurance and control governance across Group Services.

What you'll do

• Lead, coach and develop the Risk & Compliance team, building a high-performing and engaged culture.
• Build technical capability across the team in internal controls, assurance and governance.
• Act as the primary subject matter expert and trusted advisor on internal controls, governance and assurance.
• Maintain ownership of the R&C control framework across the supported functions.
• Partner with the First Line of Defence to ensure risks and controls remain appropriately designed and operated as the operating model evolves.
• Develop and execute risk-based assurance activities across Group Services.
• Consolidate assurance from audits, reviews, monitoring activities and management oversight.
• Identify control deficiencies, emerging risks and systemic issues; perform root cause analysis and assess remediation effectiveness.
• Act as the primary R&C representative for Global Internal Audit reviews impacting Group Services.
• Act as the primary coordination point for external audit activities impacting the supported functions.
• Identify opportunities to standardise, simplify and automate controls and assurance activities.
• Partner with transformation teams to assess control implications of new entities, processes and services entering the operating model.
• Independently prepare and maintain risk assessments, control assessments, assurance reviews, governance papers and leadership presentations.
• Monitor the R&C cost centre against budget monthly and support forecasting, budgeting and resource planning.
