Job description

Overview

Serve as a focal point for implementing a digitally enabled, private provider-led model that expands access to Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT) in assigned districts of Mumbai, under NTEP stewardship.

What you'll do

  • Serve as a focal point for project implementation in assigned districts of Mumbai, coordinating with District TB Officers, Senior Treatment Supervisors (STS), and Ni-kshay operators.
  • Support introductory and regular review meetings with District NTEP officials to formalize district-level technical support and develop operational plans aligned with state priorities.
  • Conduct private provider mapping, including mapping of private and public health facilities treating at-risk persons, and facilitate training and readiness of facilities in the project districts.
  • Conduct in-person or physical visits to these facilities and support formalization of engagement with private providers through on-site clinical induction.
  • Coordinate deployment and operationalization of the TPT clinic protocol as outlined under the project.
  • Oversee coordination with diagnostic service providers, including portable digital X-ray teams and IGRA/NAAT laboratories, ensuring timely scheduling, sample collection, result reporting, and linkage to TPT initiation.
  • Monitor the TPT drug supply chain at district level, tracking facility-level stock, coordinating drug refills with NTEP supplies, and troubleshooting supply disruptions.
  • Support and coordinate with project staff in routine TPT implementation, beneficiary enrollment, package handover, and monitoring of delivery success rates.
  • Mobilize private providers to participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions, arranging local travel support and ensuring attendance.
  • Conduct monthly supportive supervision visits to assigned TPT clinic hubs using standardized ODK-based supervision checklists.
  • Coordinate daily operations across TPT Clinic Managers in assigned districts, troubleshooting field-level challenges related to tele-consultation, diagnostics, drug dispensing, and beneficiary follow-up.
  • Support data validation by cross-checking facility records with Ni-kshay entries and project MIS data, identifying discrepancies and ensuring corrective data entry.
  • Monitor district-level KPIs, including clinic operationalization, tele-consultation reach, beneficiary screening rates, diagnostic utilization, TPT initiations, and adherence tracking.
  • Support project expansion under the guidance of the project lead as outlined in the project activity plan, with transition and skill transfer to PPSA and district staff.
  • Document district-specific learnings, challenges, and best practices for adaptive management and knowledge sharing.
  • Submit regular updates to the Project Lead on district operations, challenges, and achievements.
  • Perform any other project-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.

What you'll need

  • Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Social Sciences or Medicine, or equivalent, from a recognized university in India.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in public health program implementation, of which at least 1-2 years in TB elimination programs at district or field level.
  • Experience coordinating with district health systems, NTEP officials, and private sector providers.
  • Strong understanding of NTEP guidelines, TPT cascade, Ni-kshay operations, and TB care pathways.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage field operations, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and troubleshoot operational challenges.
  • Familiarity with digital health tools, tele-consultation platforms, and mobile data collection systems (ODK).
  • Good analytical skills, with ability to review data, identify gaps, and support corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with government officials, private providers, and field staff.
  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple activities, meet deadlines, and maintain detailed records.
  • Proficiency in Excel, basic data analysis, and report writing.
  • Fluency in English, Hindi, and Marathi is required.
  • Ability to work independently in field settings, adapt to dynamic situations, and collaborate effectively with team members.
