Driver CDL

Overview

Driver CDL role delivering Mondelēz products safely and on time to stores and warehouses, with route and shuttle driving at the Chesapeake, VA location.

What you'll do

• Ensure compliance with procedures and perform regular safety checks of equipment (tractor, trailer, pallet jack, etc.).
• Complete daily field service activities, including preparing receipts, truck logs, and maintenance records.
• Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch.

What you'll need

• Must meet all requirements set forth in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Final Rule regarding the issuance and renewal of Commercial Driver's Licenses (CDLs).
• CDL Class A license.
• At least one year of proven safe driving experience.
• Valid REAL ID driver's license, U.S. passport, or federal ID.
• Pass drug test, MVR, and background check.
• FMCSA Clearinghouse Registration required.
• Customer-oriented attitude, providing excellent support to key customers.
• Minimum of one year of safe driving experience with no serious driving convictions.
• Familiarity with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, as well as local, state, and federal requirements.
• Basic understanding of temperature-controlled food transportation.
• Proficiency in using a smart phone and electronic logging device (ELD) for logging positions and driving times.
• Able to use a scanner and log deliveries.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing routes and working schedules.
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions and varying temperatures.

Nice to have

• Direct store delivery (DSD) experience.

Details

• Location: Chesapeake, VA; principal location 519 Woodlake Dr, Chesapeake, VA 23320. Service includes a military base facility.
• Schedule (subject to change based on business demand): Monday to Friday, occasional Saturdays. Routes start between midnight and 4am and end between 10am and 2pm; shuttles start between noon and 1pm and end between 11pm and midnight.
• Average 40 hours per week, 8-10 hours per shift.
• Hourly pay: $30.75/hour, with $1 raises at 90 days and at 1 year, plus Branch Incentive Plan (BIP) bonus.
