Job description

Overview

Design and develop automotive electronic hardware for Instrument Clusters, Digital Cockpits and Display Systems, covering end-to-end hardware development from schematic design through production support.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop automotive electronic hardware for Instrument Clusters, Digital Cockpits, and Display Systems.
  • Create hardware architecture, detailed schematics, and design documentation.
  • Perform component selection considering automotive-grade requirements, cost, reliability, and lifecycle.
  • Design circuits involving microcontrollers/processors (NXP, Renesas, TI, Infineon, etc.), power supply and power management, CAN, LIN, Ethernet and FlexRay interfaces, display interfaces (TFT, LCD, OLED), backlight control and LED drivers, and memory devices and peripheral interfaces.
  • Collaborate with PCB layout teams to ensure signal integrity, thermal management, and manufacturability.
  • Conduct hardware design reviews, DFMEA, and root cause analysis.
  • Perform bring-up, debugging, and validation of prototypes.
  • Support EMC/EMI, ESD, environmental, and reliability testing.
  • Work closely with software, mechanical, system, and validation teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive standards and customer requirements.
  • Support manufacturing, production, and field issue investigations.

What you'll need

  • Hardware design experience: schematic design and review; analog and digital circuit design; power supply design (Buck, Boost, LDOs); signal integrity and high-speed design fundamentals; component derating and reliability analysis.
  • Automotive expertise: experience in Instrument Cluster ECU development; knowledge of CAN/CAN FD, LIN and Automotive Ethernet; exposure to vehicle electrical architecture.
  • Validation and testing: oscilloscope, logic analyzer and CAN analyzer usage; hardware debugging and failure analysis; EMC/EMI and environmental testing support.
  • Design tools: Altium Designer / Cadence Allegro / OrCAD; LTspice, PSpice or equivalent simulation tools; requirements and change management tools (JIRA, DOORS, Polarion).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-6 years of experience in Automotive Hardware Design.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Instrument Cluster hardware development.
  • Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to Functional Safety (ISO 26262).
  • Knowledge of Automotive SPICE (ASPICE).
  • Experience with Digital Cockpit, Head-Up Display (HUD), or Infotainment systems.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity requirements in automotive electronics.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and production support activities.
