Engineer- Flow and Thermal

Overview

Perform flow and thermal analysis of Solid State Circuit Breaker, circuit protection devices and allied electrical products to predict thermal performance. Develop and validate analysis models, support engineering designs, and independently handle medium-complexity technologies related to conjugate heat transfer, flow estimation and electronics cooling.

What you'll do

• Partner with teams located in India, Europe, US and China to understand specific design intent.
• Develop and validate analysis models to substantiate various engineering designs.
• Work with different products within the electrical portfolio.
• Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders by following project management best practices.
• Handle requirements and deliver quality results within stipulated timelines for conjugate heat transfer, flow estimation and electronics cooling work.
• Look for opportunities to validate analytical predictions with physical testing to mature DP capabilities.
• Contribute towards maturing technical capabilities aligned to the flow and thermal domain from the ES Americas portfolio.
• Work with product and analysis experts to develop and validate digital prototypes that mimic product physics and predict key CTQs.
• Ensure Analysis First deployment on low- and medium-complexity electrical components and assemblies.
• Highlight technical and schedule risks on assigned low- and medium-complexity programs and work towards mitigating them.
• Work with SMEs to support simulation requests and manage workload.
• Participate in ES Americas-level initiatives and contribute value.
• Learn DFSS fundamentals and implement them on programs.
• Embrace continuous improvement initiatives and consistently increase the value of project deliverables.
• Create valuable IP to expand the innovation envelope for organizational growth.

What you'll need

• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Fluids & Thermal from a reputed institute.
• ~0-2 Years of experience.
• Strong background in heat transfer.
• Strong background in fluid mechanics.
• Thorough understanding of CFD analysis fundamentals.
• Thorough understanding of 1D models.
• CFD skills.
• Simulation tool expertise.
