Engineer II, Software

Overview

Engineer II, Software on Baxter's Specialty Monitoring group, involved in design and development of software applications and features on embedded Linux for Patient Monitoring devices, using Qt/QML for the user interface and C++ for the backend.

What you'll do

• Design and develop medical applications and end-to-end features, including unit testing, debugging and bug fixing.
• Identify technical risks and optimize performance on embedded platforms.
• Collaborate with scrum teams and ensure regular program planning, flowing it down to PI and Sprint levels.
• Take an active part in project planning, scope changes and other nonstandard events throughout the life of the project.
• Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting.
• Apply superior knowledge of software development life cycles.
• Ensure that releases meet quality standards and functional requirements.
• Provide subject matter expertise to diagnose bugs and formulate solutions during testing cycles and after the project is deployed in production.

What you'll need

• Degree in Bachelor of Engineering or Computer Science.
• 4+ years in product development in software with exposure to technically leading scrum teams.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of C++ on embedded systems, Linux OS and the MVVM design pattern.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile software development methodologies.
• Knowledge and application of design patterns.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative multinational environment.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
