Engineering Director

Overview

Engineering Director role to stand up and scale a high-performing engineering team for a Data Hub platform, consolidating legacy data infrastructure and enabling AI/ML capabilities.

What you'll do

• Stand up and scale an engineering team.
• Own day-to-day engineering operations including sprint delivery, technical quality, and capacity planning.
• Drive technical excellence through architecture decisions, code quality, and DevOps/GitOps practices.
• Act as primary escalation point for technical blockers, cross-team dependencies, and delivery risks.
• Partner with the SVP on hiring, team development, vendor relationships, and strategic planning.
• Ensure production systems meet SLAs via monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.

What you'll need

• 5/8+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or platform engineering roles.
• 3+ years leading engineering teams with hiring, performance management, and delivery accountability.
• Direct experience with a modern data stack including cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred), transformation frameworks, and orchestration tools.
• Track record of delivering complex data platform initiatives such as migrations, consolidations, and greenfield builds.
• Experience operating in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments.
• Ability to review code, debug production issues, and make architectural judgments.
