Overview
Engineering Manager responsible for end-to-end delivery and execution of projects within product area teams, translating product requirements into actionable engineering work and ensuring predictable, high-quality outcomes.
What you'll do
- Drive end-to-end technical planning and execution across cross-functional teams.
- Evaluate business/product requirements for feasibility and align them to architecture via EPICs and user stories.
- Partner with Product, UX, QA, and engineers to groom and prioritize the backlog.
- Plan and run sprint execution, setting timelines, milestones, and surfacing dependencies.
- Monitor team velocity and capacity to balance bandwidth against delivery commitments.
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies to remove bottlenecks and maintain stakeholder alignment.
- Stay hands-on in critical initiatives including design guidance and code reviews.
- Ensure monitoring, alerting, and observability for owned services with defined SLIs and SLOs.
What you'll need
- 8-10 years experience as a software developer/engineer (or similar hands-on technical role).
- 5+ years building production systems using Java and Spring Boot.
- Minimum 3 years of engineering leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Agile experience including sprint planning and backlog grooming.
- Ability to translate complex product requirements into EPICs and user stories.
- Hands-on debugging capability, including incident response and blameless RCA.
