Engineering Manager - Account Security

Overview

Engineering Manager for the Account Security (AccSec) pod within the Accounts team, leading a team of 7+ engineers to reduce account takeover and its impact for Roblox players, creators, and the broader community.

What you'll do

• Formulate and present Roblox's ongoing Account Security strategy and define the roadmap to achieve it, in collaboration with data science and product partners.
• Reduce account takeover (compromise) for Roblox players, creators, and the broader community.
• Reduce the impact of any remaining account takeover and build community trust in the security of their accounts.
• Lead teams through security or abuse-fighting features from inception, prioritization and alignment to implementation and launch.
• Mentor and grow engineers, and lead high-performing engineering teams.
• Contribute code, lead rigorous architectural reviews, and dive deep into complex system challenges alongside your team.
• Consult on privacy and security reviews where relevant to Account Security.

What you'll need

• Experience in account security, identity, fraud detection, or abuse detection.
• A good sense of what good looks like with respect to detecting and mitigating account takeover.
• A track record of leading teams as they land security or abuse-fighting features from inception to launch.
• Experience in people leadership, having led and grown high-performing engineering teams.

Details

• Location: San Mateo, CA, United States (headquarters).
• Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday.
• Annual base salary range: $295,250 to $345,040 USD.
• Full-time employee, eligible for equity compensation and benefits.
