Engineering Manager - Vice President

Overview

Lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship and support to deliver high-quality software solutions, drive technical excellence, and align technical decisions with business objectives.

What you'll do

• Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals and organizational objectives.
• Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritization to ensure successful delivery within scope, time and budget.
• Mentor and support team members' professional growth, conduct performance reviews, and provide actionable feedback.
• Evaluate and enhance engineering processes, tools and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows and optimize team productivity.
• Collaborate with business partners, product managers, designers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Enforce technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices.
• Plan resources, budgets and policies; manage and maintain policies and processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies or procedures.
• Define jobs and responsibilities, plan for the department's future needs, counsel employees on performance, and contribute to employee pay decisions.
• Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact.
• Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, supporting the control and governance agenda, and demonstrate accountability for risk and controls within the team's work.
• Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish key business objectives.
• Spearhead the evolution of infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience in software engineering, with experience in a technical leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage delivery, and foster collaboration.
• Experience with React Native, native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Java/Kotlin).
• Proficiency in React.js or similar frameworks (Angular, Vue.js).
• Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Strong understanding of AI-native, agentic and multi-agent architectures with appropriate governance controls.
• Engineering leadership across large-scale distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Proven experience driving reliability, resilience, automation and SDLC optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or regulated environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and stakeholder management.
