Software Engineer in Portfolio Implementation working on systems that support AQR’s investment process, from research outputs to systematic investing at scale.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and extend Portfolio Implementation platform systems.
• Consume research outputs, perform constrained optimizations, and generate orders.
• Build and maintain cloud-based microservices engineered for reliable, efficient scale.
• Participate in architectural design discussions for high-performance, high-volume systems.
• Deliver bespoke technology solutions for specific asset classes and evolving research needs.
• Collaborate with a global team of researchers, portfolio managers, and engineers for product delivery.

What you'll need

• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of professional programming experience with strong proficiency in Java.
• Strong software design skills to produce maintainable code.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience operating microservice-based architectures and building scalable, distributed systems.
• Experience in production environments, including operating, tuning, and profiling high-performance systems.
