English Language Specialist – AI Trainer

Overview

Work as an English language specialist to train and evaluate AI language models by testing their grammar, semantics, pragmatics and cultural understanding and documenting failure modes.

What you'll do

• Converse with the model on language scenarios covering sentence structure, verb tense and aspect, word usage, idiomatic expressions, pronunciation and cultural context.
• Verify factual accuracy and logical soundness of model outputs.
• Capture reproducible error traces and document every failure mode.
• Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.

What you'll need

• Expertise in English grammar, syntax, morphology, semantics, phonetics and pragmatics.
• Clear, metacognitive communication that shows your reasoning.

Nice to have

• A master's or PhD in English language, linguistics, or a closely related field.
• Peer-reviewed publications, teaching experience, or hands-on linguistic analysis projects.

• Pay range of $6 to $65 per hour, determined by experience, expertise and geographic location.
