Overview
Enterprise Operations Engineer II on the Cloud Operations team, supporting customer experience through infrastructure monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, escalation handling and production operations.
What you'll do
- Participate in 24x7 shifts.
- Monitor the stability of infrastructure with various tools.
- Handle incident response, troubleshooting and fixes for various servers/services.
- Handle escalations as per policies/procedures.
- Communicate clearly on tickets and phone calls made to teams about various issues.
- Coordinate with different internal groups to resolve recurrent problems and alerts and follow up on escalated issues.
- Exhibit a sense of urgency to resolve issues.
- Ensure SLAs and operational standards are met.
- Contribute to operations runbooks and documentation.
- Ensure smooth handoffs between shifts.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports.
What you'll need
- Strong analytical skills and a desire to learn new concepts and technologies and apply them.
- Strong attitude to take ownership and responsibility for production servers/services.
- Familiarity with supporting a production application and incident management.
- Understanding of infrastructure and application performance monitoring tools.
- Good knowledge of AWS services EC2, VPC, S3, ELB and IAM.
- Good knowledge of Linux systems, vi/vim, netstat, free, ps/top/fstab/disk labels, filesystem, IPtables, sysstat (sar/vmstat/iostat etc), startup scripts, sudo, selinux and audit logging.
- Basic networking and security fundamentals, including TCP/UDP and SSL certificates.
- Knowledge of application protocols SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, FTP and SFTP.
Nice to have
- Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace and Splunk.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of scripting languages.
