Overview
Design, build, maintain, develop, and support software infrastructure, services, and Integration Layer components that power technology platforms. Ensure platform availability, scalability, security, performance, and 24/7 operations across three trading hubs.
What you'll do
- Design and document sophisticated software components, services, and platforms.
- Implement robust and maintainable code with clear and maintained documentation.
- Deliver customer value iteratively while working toward longer-term systems and roadmap goals.
- Communicate status and changes to work for which you are responsible and accountable, keeping stakeholders informed.
- Design test automation for implemented code through unit and integration testing.
- Work with internal and external teams to bring new platforms to market.
- Maintain and enhance software frameworks for development.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to development guidelines.
- Collaborate with multifunctional teams to identify and resolve platform-related issues.
- Develop and support Integration Layer components based on customer requirements.
- Support 24/7 operations of the Integration Layer across trading hubs in the United Kingdom, United States of America, and Singapore.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 4-7 years of experience in software development, with a focus on platform or service engineering.
- Competence in adapting to new technologies and processes and working independently and as part of a team.
- Competence in problem-solving, including analyzing complex problems, identifying root causes, and developing creative and effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with peers through leaders, engage and influence others, collect requirements, describe work, work through problems, and find productive solutions.
- Ability to handle ambiguity, navigate uncertainty, identify risks, and find the right people and tools to get the job done.
- Competence in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and systems design.
- Competence in at least one language, Java or Python, including object-oriented design.
- Competence in data structures, algorithms, runtime complexity, API and database design, and unit and functional test methodologies.
- Competence in writing secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defects.
- Competence in software engineering practices and best practices across the full software development process, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operations.
- Competence in designing and building complex software systems end-to-end that have been optimally delivered and operated in production.
- Understanding of security and privacy guidelines and how to properly supervise, log, and alarm production systems.
- Competence in building and scaling infrastructure services using Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
- Understanding of core cloud application infrastructure services, including identity platforms, networking, storage, databases, containers, and serverless.
- Competence in fixing large-scale distributed production systems.
- 4+ years of experience working on production systems and supporting these systems through on-call rotations.
- Competent knowledge of databases, such as relational, graph, document, and key-value.
- Competent ability in data modeling.
- Experience developing and supporting Integration Layer components based on Java, Spring, Open adaptor, RedHat OpenShift, AMQ, and OpenShift Container.
