Equity Specialist for Product Engineering (Contract to Hire)

Overview

Serve as the equity compensation subject matter expert for product and software engineering teams, translating equity plan rules and regulatory requirements into technical requirements and validated designs.

What you'll do

• Advise engineering and product teams on equity compensation concepts and system design.
• Define requirements for grants, vesting, tax compliance, and reporting features.
• Translate equity plan rules and regulations into software specifications.
• Validate designs and workflows against ASC 718, tax rules, and global plan requirements.
• Develop equity-focused test cases and edge-case scenarios with QA teams.
• Guide sprint planning, backlog grooming, data structures, integrations, and reporting needs.
• Monitor regulatory changes and train product and engineering teams.

What you'll need

• Certified Equity Professional (CEP) Level 3 certification.
• At least 5 years of equity compensation administration or consulting experience.
• Knowledge of global equity plans, tax compliance, and ASC 718.
• Experience working with software development teams or equity technology platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile methods and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to create functional specifications and acceptance criteria.

Nice to have

• Experience with data modeling, APIs, or SaaS platforms in the equity domain.
• Knowledge of SQL, BI tools, scripting, and Git-based workflows.
