ETL Tester- Bigquery

Overview

Senior QA Engineer – Data responsible for leading QA for complex data engineering pipelines on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and performance.

What you'll do

• Define and maintain testing methodologies across the GCP data engineering stack.
• Develop and execute data quality frameworks using dbt tests and external tools.
• Implement integration and regression tests for ETL/ELT pipelines, including Cloud Run container and HTTP-triggered tests.
• Set up and run end-to-end pipeline validations via Cloud Composer/Apache Airflow or scripting.
• Embed data and QA tests into CI/CD pipelines and automate test execution.
• Use logging/monitoring and observability tools to track pipeline health and identify anomalies.

What you'll need

• 5+ years in QA or software testing focused on data pipelines/data warehouses.
• Proficiency in complex SQL and writing data validation queries.
• Experience with GCP data tools including dbt, BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Run, Spanner, AlloyDB, and Cloud SQL.
• Hands-on with data-quality frameworks including Great Expectations and Soda Core (plus dbt-utils/dbt-expectations).
• Familiarity with database emulators and test environment provisioning.
• CI/CD automation experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, and/or GitHub Actions.
• Scripting and testing skills with Python and pytest.
