Factory Manager

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Factory In-Charge to oversee day-to-day operations at our steel fabrication workshop in the Changodar, Ahmedabad region. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who can keep production, stores, dispatch, and workshop discipline running smoothly across a busy fabrication setup.

What you'll do

• Plan and monitor daily workshop schedules, manpower deployment, and production follow-ups to ensure timely output.
• Maintain attendance, reporting, and time-keeping for workshop staff while keeping coordination clear and consistent.
• Manage stock, store records, material movement, and procurement follow-ups with vendors and suppliers.
• Oversee workshop housekeeping, maintenance, safety practices, and readiness of tools, materials, and machinery.
• Coordinate transport, dispatch, and vendor communication, while supporting basic bookkeeping and documentation in Excel, Word, and Google Drive.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of experience in steel fabrication, workshop operations, or a similar industrial manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, machinery, and workshop supervision.
• Comfortable handling Gujarati and Hindi in daily work; basic English proficiency is required for reporting and coordination.
• Education background of ITI / Diploma / Graduate, preferably in Mechanical or Civil.
• Strong leadership, planning, negotiation, and conflict management skills, with the ability to manage vendors and dispatch efficiently.

Nice to have

• Experience in PEB structures or architectural steel components.
• Familiarity with PF, ESIC, and structured workshop reporting systems.
