Overview
Lead Finance & Accounting operations in the Gurugram-based Shared Services Centre, supporting stakeholders across the UK, Europe and the US, with ownership of operational performance, financial controls and continuous improvement.
What you'll do
- Lead end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Record-to-Report (RTR), General Ledger, intercompany and bank reconciliations, and month-end close activities, meeting accuracy, completeness and timeliness requirements.
- Manage team workloads, priorities, service levels and escalations; develop team capability and foster an open, accountable and improvement-oriented working culture.
- Maintain effective financial controls, quality assurance, compliance with internal policies and audit readiness; support internal and external audits and close corrective actions promptly.
- Partner with country finance teams, controllers and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues, improve handoffs and deliver reliable services.
- Own the full process lifecycle: discovery and assessment, current-state mapping, future-state design, documentation, approval, implementation, transition, stabilisation and ongoing maturation.
- Map end-to-end workflows, dependencies, decision points, handoffs, controls and responsibilities; create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process maps, RACI matrices and process governance documentation.
- Design streamlined, standardised and scalable processes, balancing efficient execution with regulatory requirements, financial integrity and proportionate controls.
- Lead rollout of redesigned processes, including stakeholder alignment, testing, training, knowledge transfer, change management and handover into business-as-usual operations.
- Monitor post-implementation performance, resolve defects and control gaps, and establish periodic reviews to progressively improve process maturity and resilience.
- Critically challenge established practices and assess whether each process step, approval, report, reconciliation or manual intervention adds value or serves a necessary control purpose.
- Identify duplicated effort, redundant controls, unnecessary approvals, repetitive data entry, avoidable rework, inefficient handoffs and local variations; eliminate non-value-adding work or redesign it for greater efficiency.
- Lead business process re-engineering and standardisation across supported business units, retaining local variations only where justified by law or genuine business need.
- Prioritise process simplification and elimination of unnecessary steps before applying ERP enhancements, workflow automation and digital tools.
- Establish baseline measures and track outcomes including cycle times, error and rework rates, on-time delivery, cost per transaction, manual effort, productivity per FTE and capacity released; report quantifiable benefits and sustain improvements.
- Build a culture of constructive challenge in which team members regularly identify inefficiencies, propose practical solutions and own implementation of improvements.
