Job description

Overview

Lead the accurate and timely delivery of management reporting, data management, reconciliations, reporting controls and audit-support schedules for the North America business, acting as functional lead for the reporting workload.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate inputs to the annual budget and periodic forecast processes, maintaining robust planning models and clear supporting documentation
  • Review forecast updates and variance analysis against budget, prior forecast and actual performance for completeness, accuracy and consistency
  • Maintain financial models used for scenario analysis and ensure planning assumptions are traceable and aligned with reporting outputs
  • Coordinate and deliver monthly management reporting across revenue, costs, EBITDA and cash, issued to agreed deadlines
  • Review reporting packs, variance commentary and supporting analysis for quality, consistency and clarity before circulation
  • Analyse performance against budget and forecast, identify key drivers, trends, risks and opportunities, and provide evidence-based commentary
  • Monitor the reporting timetable, dependencies and outstanding inputs, escalating delivery risks and control issues promptly
  • Allocate activities and coordinate priorities across reporting and data-management contributors without formal line-management responsibility
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on reporting requirements, methods, controls and standards, and support resolution of complex data or reporting queries
  • Review work for accuracy and completeness, monitor progress against deadlines, and escalate capacity, quality or delivery concerns to the appropriate manager
  • Work with operational, commercial, Financial Control and other finance stakeholders to obtain inputs, resolve issues and provide controlled analysis for decision-making
  • Ensure consistency between source systems, planning outputs, management reports and actuals in collaboration with Financial Control
  • Oversee and review reconciliations across systems and datasets, investigate variances, and ensure reconciling items are resolved or clearly documented
  • Maintain data quality, lineage and integrity across reporting processes, with appropriate checks and evidence of review
  • Operate and monitor key reporting controls, document exceptions and remediation actions, and escalate material issues promptly
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, control and automation
  • Develop and maintain standardised reporting, reconciliation and planning templates with clear ownership and review requirements
  • Document reporting processes and controls, supporting consistent execution, knowledge transfer and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate timely responses to internal and external audit requests relating to management reporting, data, reconciliations and controls
  • Prepare, review and maintain audit-support schedules, reconciliations and evidence, ensuring information is complete, traceable and appropriately approved
  • Track open audit queries and agreed follow-up actions, liaising with control owners and escalating delays or issues where required
  • Maintain organised supporting documentation and retention records for key reporting outputs and controls

What you'll need

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA), or equivalent relevant experience
  • Substantial experience in management reporting, financial analysis, data management, reconciliations or FP&A, including responsibility for delivering outputs to defined deadlines
  • Demonstrable experience coordinating workloads, reviewing the quality of others' work, providing guidance and escalating delivery or control issues
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling capability, with confidence working across large or complex datasets
  • Experience operating reporting controls, maintaining supporting documentation and responding to audit or assurance requests
  • Ability to produce and review clear, concise financial commentary for management audiences

Nice to have

  • Experience coordinating budgeting and forecasting processes in support of management reporting
  • Experience improving or automating reporting, reconciliation or data-control processes
  • Experience working with finance systems and multiple data sources in a fast-paced environment
