Financial Consulting Senior Associate - Finance as a Service

Overview

Support the administration, deployment, adoption and optimization of the BlackLine platform for RSM's Finance and Accounting Outsourcing practice, working alongside consultants who onboard clients and provide client accounting services.

What you'll do

• Configure and maintain the BlackLine platform to align with specific financial processes and business requirements.
• Provide training and support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and ensure a smooth user experience within BlackLine.
• Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to identify process improvement and automation opportunities using BlackLine.
• Oversee reconciliation processes and ensure accuracy and completeness in line with accounting standards.
• Assist in managing and reviewing journal entries within BlackLine, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Create, assign, and monitor tasks within BlackLine to streamline financial workflows.
• Maintain data integrity and data quality within the BlackLine platform, including data imports and exports.
• Stay up to date with BlackLine software updates and collaborate with IT for system upgrades and enhancements.
• Generate reports and provide insights to support financial decision-making.
• Ensure BlackLine usage adheres to regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Develop collaborative relationships with partnering teams and stakeholders to identify system improvement opportunities.
• Evaluate business processes, develop procedures, define system process flow and requirements, and plan QA and testing.
• Create and oversee documentation related to standard operating procedures.
• Develop and deploy user training.
• Provide production support for problems and enhancements resulting from quarterly product releases.
• Ensure adequate communication and proper integration across the FAO practice and technology partners.
• Provide technical support to end-users, escalating through proper channels within RSM and to BlackLine support.
• Perform other duties and projects as required.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, MIS or IT.
• Nonprofit industry experience and expertise.
• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience.
• Background in financial close process optimization or continuous improvement.
• BlackLine experience as a user and admin (local, business or system).
• Experience leading implementations of Sage Intacct.
• Expertise in process analysis and redesign of business processes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills with sensitivity to timeframes, budgets and outcomes across multiple clients and projects.
• Ability to prioritize and stay organized and focused in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment with competing demands.
• Highly customer focused, with the ability to provide consistently excellent customer service and professionalism.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to quickly assess situations to pinpoint the scope or source of technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, able to work both individually and in a team environment, with a strong sense of ownership of client relationships.
• Able to work effectively under pressure, shift priorities quickly, and adapt to changing environments.
• Able to work with minimal direction, and be resourceful and independent in solving problems.
• Strong computer skills and proficient use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• BlackLine Implementation Certified Consultant.
• Experience with BILL, Tallie, Sage Intacct.
• Experience in a public accounting firm, consulting firm or other professional services environment.
• Experience in an outsourced accounting role.
• CA, CPA, MBA Finance.
