Financial Controller

Overview

TrueFoundry is hiring a Financial Controller to build and operate the finance function across its India and US entities. The role partners with the Director Finance and founding team on controllership, systems, compliance, treasury, and cross-border reporting.

What you'll do

• Own monthly close, ledgers, payables, receivables, fixed assets, and consolidated reporting for India and US entities.
• Build accounting policies, internal controls, approval workflows, and audit-ready financial statements.
• Lead evaluation and implementation of ERP, billing, payroll, expense, and FP&A systems.
• Build quote-to-cash processes and manage SaaS revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and ARR data.
• Own India and US statutory, tax, payroll, and cross-border compliance.
• Manage banking, foreign exchange, intercompany settlements, liquidity forecasting, and vendor procurement.
• Support SOC 2 evidence collection for finance processes and controls.

What you'll need

• CA or CPA qualification.
• 8–10 years of finance experience, including at least 4 years in a fast-paced startup or high-growth technology company.
• Experience building finance processes, controls, and systems from scratch.
• Hands-on leadership or central involvement in at least one ERP implementation.
• Strong knowledge of Ind AS, US GAAP, and multi-entity consolidation.
• Experience with Indian statutory compliance, US compliance, and statutory audits.
• Knowledge of SaaS metrics and ASC 606 / Ind AS 115 revenue recognition.

Nice to have

• Experience with Carta or equivalent ESOP and cap table administration.
• Working knowledge of DTAA, FEMA, OIDAR, and cross-border withholding tax.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or enterprise security reviews.
• Experience in AI, infrastructure, SaaS, or developer tools.

• Hybrid work with 3 office days per week.
• Opportunity to work from the London or Bay Area office for up to 3 months each year.
