Financial Reporting Manager

Overview

Financial Reporting Manager / Senior Manager on the Accounting team, focused on external and internal financial reporting and involvement in corporate ledger accounts.

What you'll do

• Work on quarterly 10-Qs and annual 10-Ks for SEC financial reporting, and build required disclosures and supporting schedules for footnotes, MD&A, and 8-Ks/earnings releases
• Work on monthly financial reporting for regulatory and credit stakeholders
• Participate in month-end close by taking ownership of key corporate-level accounts
• Collaborate with team members to provide useful and necessary financial reports
• Create and review journal entries in the GL, and prepare and review supporting schedules
• Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including investigating aged or unreconciled items
• Investigate and resolve current and historical issues with revenue transactions
• Implement accounting guidance for new accounting standard updates or initiatives
• Identify areas for improvement and drive process improvements
• Work with external auditors to ensure timely completion of reviews and audits
• Educate coworkers regarding financial practices, implications, and policies
• Provide ad hoc analysis support to business leaders and key partners on complex accounting questions
• Serve as a mentor and resource to more junior team members

What you'll need

• Degree in accounting or finance
• 5-7 years of experience in an accounting firm or in-house at a company
• At least 1 year of management experience
• Experienced knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Working knowledge of Workiva
• Adaptable to multiple and frequent changes in business environment
• Proven expertise with Excel (combining large data sets, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously without losing attention to detail
• Proactively looks to improve processes; never satisfied with the status quo
• Stakeholder management skills

Nice to have

• Familiarity with SQL
• Experience working with NetSuite
• Experience working at a public company
• Experience with industries such as financial technology, mortgage banking, or lending
