Overview
Firmware Engineer for embedded firmware development supporting real-time monitoring and diagnostic products used in electrical substations and power plants.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, maintain, and debug embedded firmware for real-time monitoring and diagnostic systems.
- Develop embedded firmware in Embedded C/C++ for microcontroller and microprocessor-based platforms.
- Build and support low-level firmware components including bootloaders, device drivers, and hardware abstraction layers.
- Implement and maintain industrial communications interfaces and protocols including IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, and IEC 60870.
- Develop software for data acquisition, diagnostics, communications, event processing, and system control.
- Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and unit/integration/system-level testing.
- Support configuration management, traceability, release, and contribute to cybersecurity and compliance initiatives.
What you'll need
- 3–5 years of industry experience in embedded firmware development, testing, debugging, and deployment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.
- Strong Embedded C/C++ proficiency in embedded and real-time environments.
- Experience with embedded Linux and/or RTOS-based systems.
- Experience with peripheral interfaces such as UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, Ethernet, and USB.
- Familiarity with Git for version control.
- Experience with embedded debugging/board bring-up and hardware-software integration.
