Overview
Lead finance for Skillz's game-level P&L, partnership and distribution deal economics, and first finance coverage for the YayZ build, operating largely solo.
What you'll do
- Own game-level P&L, including the ~$5M annual developer-cost line.
- Review existing developer agreements against title-level performance for optimization or renegotiation opportunities.
- Own partnership and distribution deal economics: NPU from distribution, cost per NPU, D30/D360 ROAS.
- Stand up and run a deal-level IRR approval process for new partnership and distribution deals.
- Provide first finance coverage for the YayZ build, including early P&L and KPI reporting once a cadence exists.
- Track Arena content-sourcing retention and engagement economics with Cheyne Cole's team.
- Flag this seat's own support needs early, given no dedicated analyst is currently assigned.
What you'll need
- Vendor or developer-contract review fluency: able to read existing agreements, benchmark terms, and structure a renegotiation or optimization case.
- Deal-economics fluency: comfortable modeling NPU, cost-per-NPU, and multi-horizon ROAS for partnership deals.
- Able to stand up a net-new approval process (deal IRR) rather than just operate an existing one.
- Comfortable operating solo across four distinct threads (game-level P&L and developer cost, Partnerships, Distribution, YayZ) without dedicated analyst support.
- Build-stage mindset, comfortable establishing a finance function from zero for YayZ.
- 4+ years in FP&A, corporate development, or partnerships/deal finance.
- Direct experience with deal economics, IRR/ROI modeling, or partnership P&L analysis.
- Experience reviewing or negotiating developer, licensing, or vendor agreements, ideally with a cost-optimization mandate.
- Comfortable operating with US-based stakeholders across time zones.
Nice to have
- Gaming, media, or platform-business experience.
