Frontend Engineer

Overview

Build core web experiences for Chat, Notes, Calendar, Docs, and Sheets. Own highly interactive frontend product surfaces and integrate AI-driven experiences into user workflows.

What you'll do

• Build major web experiences across Chat, Notes, Calendar, Docs, and Sheets.
• Develop complex interactions including real-time messaging, collaborative editing, rich-text editing, scheduling, tables, and spreadsheets.
• Create reusable frontend architecture and components consistent across applications.
• Integrate streaming AI responses, proactive actions, and model-driven experiences into product workflows.
• Own frontend performance, responsiveness, reliability, and accessibility across browsers and devices.
• Work with product and design to move from prototype to production.

What you'll need

• Strong experience building complex production web applications using React and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of frontend architecture, state management, browser APIs, and performance.
• Experience building highly interactive products such as chat, collaboration, productivity, document editing, calendars, or workspaces.
• Experience with real-time systems including WebSockets and streaming APIs.
• Strong product/UI judgment with attention to interaction details.
• Ability to independently own features from technical design through production.
