Frontend Engineer

Overview

Build core web front-end experiences for Chat, Notes, Calendar, Docs, and Sheets, including highly interactive product surfaces and AI-integrated workflows.

What you'll do

• Build major web experiences across Chat, Notes, Calendar, Docs, and Sheets.
• Develop complex interactions such as real-time messaging, collaborative editing, rich-text editing, scheduling, tables, and spreadsheets.
• Create reusable frontend architecture and components across ActAI applications.
• Integrate streaming AI responses and proactive actions into product workflows.
• Own frontend performance, responsiveness, reliability, and accessibility across browsers and devices.
• Partner with product and design to move ideas from prototype to production.

What you'll need

• Strong experience building complex, production web applications using React and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of frontend architecture, state management, browser APIs, and performance.
• Experience building highly interactive products like chat, collaboration, productivity, document editing, calendars, or workspaces.
• Experience with real-time systems such as WebSockets, streaming APIs, or collaborative interfaces.
• Strong product and UI judgment with attention to interaction details.
• Ability to independently own features from technical design through production.
