Senior Software Engineer

Overview

Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing scalable systems and services for a SaaS Employee Experience platform. The role focuses on complex feature delivery, system performance and reliability, and supporting other engineers.

What you'll do

• Design and develop scalable systems and services.
• Implement maintainable, observable, and reliable microservices and APIs.
• Own complex features from design through deployment and operational support.
• Build services using AWS serverless, event-driven, and container technologies.
• Apply authentication, authorization, security, GDPR, and PII-handling practices.
• Improve monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, reliability, and technical debt.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, and DevOps stakeholders.

What you'll need

• 5–8 years of software development experience in distributed or SaaS environments.
• Strong experience with Node.js/TypeScript or Java.
• Familiarity with React or similar modern front-end frameworks.
• Understanding of distributed systems, multi-tenancy, RBAC, and SaaS security.
• Experience with observability, event-driven systems, CI/CD, Git, and automated testing.
• Ability to design for scalability, performance, and fault tolerance.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS cloud services.
• Familiarity with Terraform or CDK.

Details

• Remote role in Ireland.
• Annual gross base salary of €61,000–€75,000, plus variable compensation.
• Applicants must have the right to work in Ireland.
• Preference will be given to candidates currently based in Ireland.
