Senior Software Engineer - Clearing

Overview

Senior Software Engineer on Alpaca’s Clearing team, working on systems that handle what happens after trades and support broker-dealer operations.

What you'll do

• Own projects from ideation through deployment.
• Design and build new systems enabling new products and revenue opportunities.
• Refine and improve existing clearing-related systems.
• Work on securities finance-related functions and supporting infrastructure.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to keep systems running reliably.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of hands-on experience building reliable, distributed systems.
• Experience designing good (RESTful) APIs and identifying poorly designed ones.
• Good foundational knowledge of computers, the internet, databases, and distributed systems.
• Productivity with Go, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes.
• Interest in how traditional financial markets work.
• Ability to take the lead on a project by handling what’s needed after scoping.
