Frontend Engineer - Internship

Overview

A paid 6-month frontend engineering internship building React user interfaces for Certa's enterprise third-party risk, compliance and ESG platform, with the opportunity to transition to a full-time role based on performance.

What you'll do

• Build pixel-perfect, highly interactive UI components in React.
• Translate Figma designs into production-ready code, and push back when a design doesn't make sense.
• Care about load times, re-renders and bundle sizes.
• Work with backend engineers to define APIs and data contracts.
• Write component tests, maintain a high standard for code quality, and ship features end-to-end.

What you'll need

• A solid grasp of JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals: closures, async, and the event loop.
• Working knowledge of React: hooks, state management, and component lifecycle.
• Real project experience shipping something to the web, beyond tutorials: thoughtful state management, API integration with loading/error/auth handling, forms with client- and server-aware validation, multi-page routing (nested and protected routes, query params), or working with a component library or design system.
• Debugging and performance skills: can fix a broken UI without being told where to start, and has used browser DevTools to spot and fix a slow render.
• Care about accessibility, responsiveness and edge cases, not just happy paths, and have opinions about UX.
• Use AI tools (Copilot, v0, or similar) to build faster, and know when a suggestion is right and when it is subtly wrong.

• Remote-first; open to candidates hiring globally, with optional in-person work at London, San Francisco or Jaipur offices.
