Golang Engineer

Overview

Senior Software Engineer for an Edge Platform team, developing software to manage large fleets of automotive edge devices running on the ZEDEDA platform.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain production-quality Go software components for the Edge Platform.
• Build a GitOps-based component to manage edge devices via API.
• Implement integrations with ZedCloud APIs, IAM, Git, and other platform services.
• Design and implement unit, integration, and edge-case tests.
• Investigate and resolve software defects including unreliable network and partial update failures.
• Improve documentation, architecture decisions, and knowledge sharing.
• Support automation for device lifecycle management, application delivery, and Day 2 operations.

What you'll need

• Strong professional experience in software engineering and backend development.
• Proficiency in Go (interfaces, concurrency, error handling, testing).
• Knowledge of software design principles and design patterns.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests and identifying edge cases.
• Experience with REST APIs and distributed systems concepts like retries, timeouts, idempotency, and partial failures.
• Practical DevOps and scripting experience with Linux, shell scripting, GitLab CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
• Good knowledge of Docker and containerized applications.
