Graduate Engineer Trainee

Overview

Graduate Engineering Trainee (Mechanical) on GE HealthCare’s XGEN team, supporting Install Base Engineering for X-ray tube and X-ray generator products.

What you'll do

• Support engineering activities for X-ray tube and X-ray generator products in Install Base Engineering.
• Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals to sustaining engineering and product lifecycle activities.
• Prepare and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T, and perform tolerance analysis.
• Use CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, ANSYS) to support engineering work.
• Assist with engineering change requests (ECRs/SCRs) and the ECCB process.
• Support qualification, verification, validation, testing, and failure analysis activities.
• Prepare technical documentation using Microsoft Office applications.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong fundamentals in Mechanical Engineering.
• Hands-on understanding of engineering drawings, including GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Basic understanding of mechanical simulation concepts.
• Working knowledge of CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, and ANSYS.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Nice to have

• Exposure to mechanical testing, laboratory experiments, and engineering validation through academic projects or internships.
• Understanding of engineering change management and product lifecycle support.
• Interest in sustaining engineering and medical imaging products.
