Head of Data(Data Engineering + Machine Learning)

Overview

Head of Data (Data Engineering + Machine Learning) responsible for defining and leading Easyship’s company-wide data and AI strategy, scaling the data organization, and enabling data-driven decision making.

What you'll do

• Own and define the company-wide Data & AI strategy aligned with business goals.
• Lead and scale a data team across analytics and data engineering (and eventually data science).
• Champion AI and machine learning initiatives and support smarter, more automated product evolution.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations to make data accessible and actionable.
• Guide architectural decisions across analytics platforms, infrastructure, and tooling.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance for critical decisions.
• Enable self-serve analytics and drive experimentation and continuous improvement.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience in a Head of Data or senior data leadership role.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts with ability to deliver PoCs and pilots.
• Experience scaling and managing data teams, including hiring and mentorship.
• Familiarity with modern data architecture and pipelines.
• Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills for aligning teams.
• Ability to use ROI assessment methodologies to prioritize initiatives.

Details

• Full-time, onsite role based in Bengaluru (MG Road) office.
• Follows UK collaboration hours (11:00AM–8:00PM IST).
