Hindi Interpreter

Overview

Hindi language interpreter role supporting client calls by rendering accurate meaning between Hindi and English.

What you'll do

• Render correct concepts and meanings between Hindi and English, following complexity, clarity, tone and style, and upholding correct grammar and syntax in both languages.
• Provide strict renditions of messages, including every detail of the conversation, and be prepared for challenging calls at any time.
• Employ good customer service and communication skills, with clear enunciation, pronunciation, a pleasant and professional voice, and polite forms of expression.
• Follow client instructions, manage the flow of the call, avoid taking over the call, and avoid interaction with the limited English speaker without the client's permission.
• Remain calm during calls when a primary speaker is incoherent or upset, especially in emergency situations.
• Remain punctual and available during scheduled work hours.
• Ensure access to the internet for work-related electronic communication.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

What you'll need

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Native fluency in English.
• Language certification required: B2/HSK4.
• Advanced skills in the cultural dynamics of the language, including cultural implications and idiomatic expressions.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and remain neutral and objective at all times.
• Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication, with the permission or at the request of the client.

Details

• Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
• Employment type: Full-time.
• Working days: 5 days (2 rotational week offs).
• Applicants should be comfortable with rotational shifts, including night shifts.
