Overview
HV Substation Commissioning Engineer to test, commission, and integrate high-voltage substation projects with safety and technical quality standards.
What you'll do
- Lead site-based commissioning activities for primary and secondary equipment.
- Drive effective testing and commissioning of HV and LV substation equipment to meet timelines and budget requirements.
- Manage site safety by handling risk assessments and method statements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including test records, reports, and non-conformance tracking.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical queries and coordinate commissioning resources.
- Perform fault finding on protection schemes and integrate third-party IEDs to improve system performance.
What you'll need
- Substantive experience in testing and commissioning of HV power system equipment in generation, transmission, or distribution environments.
- Ability to manage and troubleshoot complex protection schemes and substation automation systems.
- Understanding of IEC61850, Modbus, and IEC 104 communication protocols.
- Expertise using Omicron, Sverker, or Megger test equipment.
- Formal education in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor’s or Master’s) or equivalent is marked as “nice to have”.
