Electrical Power Systems Engineer - Customer Support

Overview

Electrical Power Systems Engineer - Customer Support to provide technical support for GE Vernova Software solutions used by electric utilities and transmission system operators.

What you'll do

• Work with customers to gather information, investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex issues.
• Support incoming tickets across power system modules of the AEMS product.
• Develop fixes and product enhancements with other GE Vernova Electrification Software experts.
• Maintain power systems application functionality (code fixes, documentation, and user interfaces).
• Handle build and deployment activities, orchestrating deployment through environments to production.
• Provide out-of-hours 24/7 emergency support and facilitate customer coordination with 3rd-party vendors.

What you'll need

• Experience and skills in electricity power systems and software programming.
• Programming skills in C, C++, C#, Python or other related languages.
• Knowledge or experience in RDBMS and Linux.
• Good understanding of power systems/energy management systems focused on transmission network applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentations to technical and non-technical staff.
• Knowledge level comparable to a bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma with relevant experience (or a degree in electrical power systems plus software development/project delivery track record).

Details

• Location: onsite with the customer in Wokingham; hybrid working can be considered but onsite presence is preferred.
• Travel to customer sites in the region as required.
