HVAC Retrofit Project Manager

Overview

Lead the end-to-end execution and delivery of HVAC retrofit projects, with a focus on chiller installation, testing and commissioning, and managing project schedules, resources, stakeholders and site teams.

What you'll do

• Manage the complete lifecycle of HVAC projects from project initiation to handover.
• Lead the installation, testing, commissioning and startup of water-cooled chillers, air-cooled chillers, HVAC systems, cooling towers, and pumps and associated equipment.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Develop project plans, schedules, manpower deployment plans and budgets.
• Monitor project progress, quality, safety and compliance with contractual requirements.
• Conduct site meetings and provide project status updates to management and customers.
• Manage project risks and proactively resolve technical and execution challenges.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of project materials and equipment.
• Support project billing, cost control, variation management and collections.
• Ensure compliance with EHS and quality standards throughout project execution.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8-15+ years of experience in HVAC project execution and project management.
• Strong hands-on experience in chiller installation, testing and commissioning.
• Proven experience managing large commercial, industrial, healthcare, data center or infrastructure HVAC projects.
• Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously.
• Technical skills: chiller installation and commissioning; HVAC systems; pumps and hydronic systems; cooling towers; HVAC controls integration; project scheduling and planning; site execution management; testing and commissioning; vendor and contractor management; cost control and budget management.
• Key competencies: project leadership, stakeholder management, customer relationship management, problem solving and decision making, team management, communication and negotiation skills.

Nice to have

• Project Management certification (PMP/PRINCE2).
• Demonstrated experience successfully delivering HVAC projects with a focus on chiller systems.
• Strong technical expertise in installation, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning of chillers.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
