Identity and Access Management Analyst

Overview

The Identity and Access Management Analyst manages IAM infrastructure and identity services across Active Directory, Azure AD (Entra ID), Microsoft 365 identity objects, hardware, software, communications, and application solutions. The role supports engineered IT services, service reporting, risk and contingency planning, regulatory and professional standards, and related public network, virtual private network, and outsourced services.

What you'll do

• Create, modify, and delete user accounts, groups, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, rooms, and other directory resources in Active Directory and Azure AD (Entra ID).
• Administer group memberships, role assignments, and access permissions in accordance with least privilege principles.
• Perform day to day identity lifecycle management for joiners, movers, and leavers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve account, access, and resource issues across on prem and cloud identity platforms.
• Investigate authentication, authorization, synchronization, and provisioning issues, and escalate as required.
• Participate in incident, problem, and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of identity related issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and service desk teams to resolve cross functional identity and access issues.
• Follow and contribute to standard operating procedures, technical documentation, and knowledge base articles.
• Execute changes in alignment with change management and approval processes.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding issue status, root cause, and corrective actions.
• Support audits and compliance requirements related to identity and access management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within directory services.
• Perform other IAM work as required, including access reviews, bulk tasks, or pulling information from production.
• Prepare for and support new or changed services, regulatory, legal, and professional standards, and the performance of systems and services in relation to business performance.
• Provide service-level reporting, risk, and contingency planning.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of hands on experience with Active Directory, Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, including User/Group/Access Management, Conditional Access, and Access Policies, and Microsoft 365 identity objects.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for user access, group membership, and directory synchronization issues.
• Ability to follow structured processes while maintaining attention to detail.
• Documentation and communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate across technical and non technical teams.
• Experience in production environment, change processes, and ticketing systems.
• IAM & PAM (Privileged Access Management), including RBAC, Least Privilege, SSO, and MFA.
• IAM Lifecycle Management, including Joiner, Mover, and Leaver.
• PowerShell Scripting for Automation for IAM & AD Management.
• Integration with Security & Cloud Teams for Cross-functional IAM Collaboration.
• Security & Compliance, including Audit, Risk Remediation, and AD Access Reviews.
• IAM Process Optimization & Policy Enforcement.
• IAM Project Management & Stakeholder Communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure AD Connect, Conditional Access, or identity governance.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools and formal incident/change management frameworks.
• Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell.
