Job description

Overview

As an Infrastructure Engineer at associate vice president level, you’ll engineer infrastructure technology for public and private cloud environments and develop secure, scalable infrastructure products using modern engineering practices and tools.

What you'll do

  • Contribute to and manage the selection, creation and maintenance of technologies required to meet customer needs, strategic targets and architecture outcomes.
  • Develop products using modern engineering practices and tools.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to inform product roadmaps and detail technology lifecycles from new products through end of support and retirement.
  • Support engineered products, respond to user feedback and new feature requests, and resolve production issues requested by the Product Owner.
  • Develop technical skills through continuous learning and development.
  • Work within a team to design intuitive, self-service infrastructure products.
  • Contribute to the delivery of infrastructure as code solutions.
  • Work with users to help them use products and gain feedback.
  • Provide operational support for pattern or product-related issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support the maintenance of product roadmaps.
  • Lead the delivery of cloud-first, scalable AWS SMUS based Infrastructure across the Enterprise Data Transformation programme.
  • Work across Data Marketplace, Architecture, and Engineering teams to build secure, automated, high-performance data solutions that unlock insight and simplify the organisation.

What you'll need

  • Experience in software development or automation scripting such as Python or Shell.
  • An understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in utilizing modern infrastructure as code via tooling.
  • Strong experience with AWS, distributed processing and streaming technologies like Kafka and other systems.
  • Experience of the development of CI or CD pipelines using modern tooling.
  • Awareness of software testing practices and tools, including data, information and sentiment using observability tools and techniques to continuously improve solutions.
  • Public cloud vendor knowledge covering GCP, AWS and Azure.
  • Experience of working with technology deployed to an on premise datacentre.
  • An understanding of a DevOps mind-set, collaboration, automation and tooling.
